acrylic on canvas paper
When I saw the topic for this week I thought, Oh this will be easy- I’ll just do a quick painting of a tea cup! Sure it started out simple, but before you knew it, there were layers after layers of paint, texture, then more layers. THEN, I had scanned it to the computer adding words to the image in a steam pattern and messed around with several different fonts, colors and so on. A few hours later I realized it had not been so simple after all. So, I scrapped all the wording and just went with the cup. It is very typical for me to turn a simple project into hours of hogwash!

yes, it is funny the way that happens! simple is deceptive!!! This is so beautiful, simple or not!

Simple is a deceptive term, I think! I love the way this turned out, and I think I like that you don’t have the words. It looks very calm and relaxing…as if I could sit down and take a sip. I love the colors and the strokes.

Sometimes it is the simple things that take the longest…The result is so worth it, though. Wow! This is a stunning piece. The colors alone are so amazing. The composition gathers strength from its simplicity. I love it!
Your blog seems really interesting…I will bookmark it for more visits.

Beautiful! I could look at that cup of hogwash anytime

All that work paid off. Most people may not notice by I noticed how your ellipses in the cup and saucer are both accurately drawn. Nice work!

I love the colors you used and the imagery and the texture in the background is very nice. I would like to see it with the swirled words too.
