The Echoing Green

The Sun does arise,
And make happy the skies.
The merry bells ring,
To welcome the Spring.
The sky-lark and thrush,
The birds of the bush,
Sing louder around,
To the bells chearful sound,
While our sports shall be seen
On the Echoing Green.

   Ok, this is my new favorite…LOVE THIS! The green is spectacular. Great job! By the way I was flipping channels toay and came across the show that you are going to be on…do you know the date they will be showing you? I hope I didnt miss it.

   This is beautiful! I love the greens (one of my favorite colors) and the poem. Blake did the series of Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience as a social commentary. The Innocence poems show a childlike or ideal point of view whereas the Experience poems offer a more realistic point of view. A good contrast can be found in the two versions of the chimney sweeper poems…rather heartbreaking! Anyway, this is beautiful and it portrays the essence of the poem’s words so well. Your work is so inspiring and uplifting!
