This week’s challenge for Whiplash’s weekly compitiion is No Fear.
I fear a lot of things, and one of them is the quick passage of time and the unknown of the future. What a better way to pass time than with a fun little clock reminding me to go forth WITHOUT FEAR!
I’ve had a long facination with clocks. I have been making them for a couple of years. Usually my clocks involve cutting wood or MDF with a scroll saw and then lots of painting. This time I thought I’d do something a little different than my usual. You know those CD’s you get in the mail forom a certain internet service? Well this is made out of one of those CD’s. Instead of throwing them away, I have been saving them vowing to someday make something out of them. A clock mechanism, some tooling metal, assorted papers, glue, ink and colored pencils all came together to make this piece.
You are a woman of many talents…first mirrors and now clocks! Brilliant. I bet this looks fantastic in your home.

What a fantastic use of those CD’s! That is so whimsical, and at first light-hearted, but really very deep.
