Illustration Friday – Routine

A very late entry for Illustration Friday.

12 x 12 Acrylic

I’ve been making a huge effort to make exercise, yoga and meditation a part of my daily routine.  I’ve been doing well for the last two weeks, getting yoga in at least 4 time per week.  It’s so crazy how much it affects my day when I actually do take the time to practice.  I feel more energized, flexible and conscious of what I do, how I think and what I eat.   It’s a great feeling.

Another thing I want to make more routine is painting and drawing.   It’s a another thing that makes me happy, calm and very aware of everything around me.  When I’m in my painting moods, suddenly everything becomes incredibly colorful, vivid and an object of art.

I wrote down a website address just this morning in order to find out more information about a yoga/health class in my area. I’ve done a little reading on it lately and think it might be a great thing for me. Your blog today is just more confirmation of that for me. 80)

I love your painting. Last year when I began teaching and graduate school I started to feel very out of balance. I made one night a week yoga night and no excuse got me out of it. I think it was the best thing I did all year.

I love my yoga! I have been slacking recently and not going, but I need to get back into it!

  4. Love your site and would love to put a link to it on my blog. May I use your good kismet graphic as your logo on my page?
    Thanks for your reply,
    Melissa

I joined a gym over the summer, that has a pool and offers water aerobics classes. I signed up during a special when they included a Kid’s Club (up to two kids – perfect!) so now that school started, we’ve gotten into a routine where we take Becca to school, then Jessie and I go to the gym where she plays and I exercise for an hour. It’s been totally life-changing for me, I can’t tell you how much better I feel about myself. I feel happier, less stressed, more patient and kind to my kids, and it’s just been amazing. I’m interested in yoga, too, do you have any suggestions for how to learn it on my own? Or is that even possible? I love your art, looking forward to seeing more of it.

Love yoga, love painting, love your painting! I’m glad to find another creative blogger who enjoys yoga and art as much as I do!
