Ornaments 2008

I made these gnome-ish little Santas for Amy’s 3rd Annual Christmas Ornament Swap.

I plan on making more of these, along with birds and houses, but my shipment of aluminum foiling metal never made it to me.  A second batch is being shipped, but I won’t get it until Thursday or Friday.  So, I have a bunch of half finished ornament waiting to be completed.

On another note, I am making myself be more social, instead of hiding in my craft room most of the time.  I’m making huge effort to do things more with my local friends.  So lately, I’ve been making craft and lunch dates, putting them in my calender with ink pen. I had a friend over today and it was so much fun to enjoy the delightful conversation.  Tomorrow another good friend is coming over to play and then another next Wednesday!!  I feel like a social butterfly.  Haven’t done this in quite a while and I’m really enjoying it. January I really want to start a monthly craft group.  I have so many friends that are talented and artistic, it would be good the gather everyone for crafty fun, food and drink.

I love the ornaments. Too bad you live on the other side of the country; I too have been wondering whether I might make “dates” with other crafters, especially since I have the desire to learn but not necessarily the know how! =) Anyway, if you lived nearby, I’d love to be your crafting buddy. It’s a good thing you have this awesome blog!

Those ornaments are wonderful! Congratulations on being more social, I can relate to how hard it is sometimes. I just found my groove and we moved again. I’m hoping this time around it won’t take as long to find some crafty peeps.

Congratulations on taking the steps to put yourself out there socially!

You have such a beautiful mind! =) Those Santa’s are marvelous! I was so on top of Halloween and sooo far behind on getting ready for Christmas. Maybe I’ll get my butt in gear next year. I wish we were closer, I’d love to come to your crafty dates! Good for you!! =) Happy Holidays!

I’m going to have to have one of these to go with the bird from last year!! Love them.

I have a local group of friends that gets together every couple or three weeks for a “handwork circle” – it started out as a Waldorf-inspired playgroup but since most of our kids are in preschool or elementary school now, the playgroup stopped but the mama group lives on. It absolutely helps to keep me sane.

Those ornaments are adorable! Really sweet and festive.

I’m on the same wavelength as far as a regular social outing or gathering. I’m anxious to get back to the Chicago area where I actualy know people and create a similar monthly group. I’m thinking crafting and cooking, since not all of my friends consider themselves creative… we’ll see! I wish you all the best in getting this started in January, I understand the need and rewards of time with friends!
