Spring Goddess take 2

I’ve been in a funk with my painting.  Wanting to paint, but feeling like my ideas are flat and boring.  So I decided to join the Creative Every Day challenge.  It’s a no stress, low pressure challenge.  You don’t have to post every day either.  I just thought I needed a little jump start to help me get the paints out.

The theme for this month is dream.  It’s a good theme I know I can work with.  I pulled out the old painting above to paint over, but ended up reworking it instead.  It doesn’t really go with the dream theme, but I like the piece a little better.  The old version was tossed on the shelf face down a year ago.  I found it too dark and I didn’t like her face. This one I don’t mind too much. It’s a little softer and more spring-like to me.  I am hyper critical of my paintings.  If I look at them too long, all I can see are the flaws.  I am trying to be less critical.

I did start on a dream painting that I will hopefully be sharing soon.
