I have a ton of plants in my house AND a cat, and the only way I manage to keep her off of them (especially when she decides she wants to potty in the pot, no pun intended) is by sticking some wooden skewers in the pot. Thing is, that doesn't stop her from eating (poor tulips!). I think you have found a great solution to the problem and a great way to bring freshness into your home. Oh, those are lovely!
