sunshine

My city is heavily influenced by vibrant Mexican color. It is not unusual so see brightly colored trim and doors on houses or interesting metal sculptures, murals or tile work.

I love seeing splashes of color through out town, so we’ve been trying to add some flavor and color to our own home.  I found a plain metal sun at JoAnn’s for 50% off and knew I had to paint it.

I used acrylic paint and about 5 or 6 layers of protective spray.  I think it definitely adds a bit of character to my home.

Love the sun – what a great way to welcome summer!

  8. VEry colorful and cute! We’re in the process of adding some personality to the front of our home too, mainly in the form of colorful flowerpots, hanging flowers and flowering bushes. It’s nice to pull up to the house and immediately feel like you belong there. Everyone should try and stamp their personality into where they live. It would certainly make driving through neighborhoods more fun 🙂

Gorgeous. It looks great against the brick and with the blue shutters too.
