painted paper clay

Here are my completed paper clay bowls.  I am really loving how they turned out.

A bit of paint with gold accents.

Then a little wax on the insides which gives them a nice weight and feel (the purple one doesn’t have wax).

They will be given with the rock inside, but the bowls would be nice for holding special jewelry, yes?

I love these so much! We’ve not played with paper clay but now I want to try it. Maybe when a few more leaves come out we can press leaves into it. Thanks so much for sharing!

They are so beautiful! Love the colors and patterns! What fun they must have been to make.

    Oh yes! Definately 😀

  4. These are lovely Regina! How do they hold up to use, as far as dropping in jewelry or change, whatever? Both: how does the paper clay hold up against breaking or chipping, and how does the wax finish hold up, does it stay pretty? Just gorgeous!

    • They actually hold up really well. They get little scuff marks, but nothing too noticeable. The encaustic wax I buy is a high resin to wax ratio (it’s a 8:1 ratio) so they harden very nicely. The girl I usually buy it from doesn’t sell it anymore, but I love it. Oh, and I’ve dropped them and they don’t break or chip (yet)
