Scented Heating Pads

I bought some fabric the other day, the first time in a long time that I have done that. I went to SAS, a sort of remnant and discount fabric store and could not resist these gorgeous prints.

I decided to make patchwork heating pads as gifts for family.

They were made with hard red wheat berries and are scented with peppermint and lavender essential oils.

Then I made separate bags for the wheat berried and patchwork cases that can be taken off and washed if needed. I added cotton twill tape at the ends as closing ties which is better than Velcro in the microwave.

They are 20 x 7 inches and fit perfectly around the neck and shoulders.  Now I need to make myself one!

I love your fabric choice….and am suffering from stinky cold at mo so one of these seems good idea!

  2. I have one of these from Bath and Body works but yours are so, so much prettier!

I was one of the lucky ones who received this colorful heating pad and just love it! The fabric is beautiful and this is the first pad I’ve seen with a washable cover…nice touch. Thank you, Regina! Lucky auntie
