I made this art/idea/plans/goals journal with the intention of listing, doodling, painting and writing out what I want for my creative business this year.
I painted my word on the front to help remind and guide me through 2013.
The front cover was made from a piece of cardboard collaged with pieces of paper on the front and back, giving it a very nice texture and heavy weight. I started with a paint base of raw umber, adding my girl and flowers on top with all my favorite colors. On the back, I painted a happy, watchful sun and cheerful flowers.
The back cover page was also made from cardboard, but I glued on crumpled tissue paper to give it texture and painted inspiring messages to myself. Around “make it good”, I wrote words that define Flourish to me: thrive, prosper, expand, experience, learn, grow, move, push forward, dream big, focus, work hard, have fun, fly high.
Inside is watercolor paper, drawing paper and plain paper so that I can write, draw and paint whenever I like.
I also punched holes and used binding rings so that I can add more paper if I need to.
I can’t wait to fill it up and make it fat!
