Mother’s Love

mother baby art

Does this painting look familiar? It’s a copy of one of my older paintings. The original was painted over 4 years ago and has been my top selling print.

I was commissioned recently to re-do it in slightly different colors.  It was a bit strange trying to copy my own art, especially because my techniques have changed quite a bit. I happy with the results. It’s definitely a brighter, updated version.

When I painted the original, I remember mourning their babyhood and smallness, the days when I could snuggle up with their little bodies . Even though my boys are much bigger now, I still feel the same way as my painting shows: protective, full of love and wanting to nurture them and help them grow the best way possible. That feeling never goes away.
