keeping my head down

road to home art by Regina Lord

It’s October 1st and the countdown begins until my first art & craft fair of the season. Only 24 days, yikes!! I am currently working on these little house paintings (2.25 x 2.25 inches) and have added some texture to several of the block with light molding past and stencils.

I’m trying really hard to keep my head down and get some work done. I usually like listening to music, but spotify & pandora are really bugging me lately because of the random music tangents that often happen.  So, I’ve been listening to audio books.  I love reading, but never have the time to just sit down and read. What a wonderful way to get work done a “read” a good book. I am lucky that our library has an excellent selection.

So far, I have listened to The Girl Who Chased the Moon, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie and am now listening to The Night Circus.  All very good.  Next up, Cloud Atlas.  I have lots more books on the list, which should last me the month, I hope.

Listening to audiobooks while I’m working in my studio is the best way i know how to occupy my left brain so I can create. I usually listen to suspense or crime dramas and my son just can’t understand how I can follow the story, especially when it gets intense. I love it! Must check my library for those books you listed.

p.s. liking the molding paste starts!
