faces under 30 minutes

art by Regina Lord

One of my favorite ways to challenge myself artistically, is to paint simple faces in under 30 minutes, especially when I am short on time.

Above are four that I did last week in my art journal. The top two with watercolor crayons and the bottom two are with acrylic paint.

It keeps me happy when I can paint what I want in my journal, at a moment’s notice.  Nothing fancy, just quick and fun.

I really like the consistent tone of all of the portraits, practicing regularly probably helps you out quite a lot. Love it!

Wow, I was impressed with your ability! I thought you did a great job of keeping each face in the same style, while also making each one an individual by only making small subtle changes to the faces themselves. Thank you for sharing!
