My grand plans for merry making seems to be falling way short of what I had originally dreamed up. I am announcing now, that it really doesn’t matter. I’ve cut my list in half and I’m just gonna wing it. Whatever happens happens. No shop update, no handmade gifts for everyone, no excessive baking. I’m going to chill like a penguin. I’m saying this in hopes that it REALLY will stop bothering me. Like, maybe getting it out there will make it all okay. Really okay. And I’ll stop silently and internally stressing about it. Deep, deep breath…Ahhhhhh
Now on to better things.
These are the ornaments I made for the Holiday Ornament Swap and for Amy’s ornament swap. I know I said I’d only do two swaps, but I thought I’d just make a bunch of ornaments (which I had been planning to do anyway). Plus, I can’t resist a swap hosted by Amy. I always try to do her swaps–they’re the best.
These ornaments are somewhat similar to the ones I made last year. Painted metal, different subject. This large group of little houses are only halfway finished. I had to take a picture before I lost my light. They didn’t take as long to paint as you’d think, maybe because I was enjoying myself and not rushing. And of course they have glitter. Love, love, love sparkles!
AND because I love the birds I made last year so much, I made more. I had originally planned to have these done over a week ago and put them up on etsy. But, I just can’t imagine spending all that time listing them. So, I’m giving a couple away. One house and one bird. What am I going to do with the rest you ask? Well, if anyone wants one, you can buy one from me through paypal. Six dollars for a house and 8$ for a bird (shipping included for US and Canada orders) add $2 for international. Please send me an email to regina AT creativekismet DOT com and let me know if you would like one. There are 8 birds and 5 houses available. Thanks!!!
Don’t forget to leave a comment to win one of these ornaments. I will pick two names on Thursday night (Dec. 13th) so I can mail them on Friday.
I want to win an ornament!
my 2 year old son just came over, looked at the birds and announce “kawaii ne” (cute aren’t they in Japanese” then started singing tweat tweat, and well, i have to agree with him!
Thanks for all the inspiration! I would love to hang one of these on our tree. 🙂
A bird, a bird. One for my studio all year long! Even if I don’t win, I’m still a winner I tell you! I hear you about trying not to stress. My shop is empty which is completely horrible. But it was either update the shop or craft with the kids. What will I wish I did more of in the end? But hey. On the upside, I sold out for the year! Glass half empty or half full.
Houses and birds and ornaments, oh my! Just the thing to complete my tree. Beautiful.
your ornaments are so lovely! i hope i win!
they are so adorable! pick me, pick me! 😉
One of those would fit perfectly into my folk art ornament collection! Very pretty.
Michele
I love the birds, they are gorgeous!
Oh my!! I just love those ornaments, especially the little birds. You are so talented.
OMG these are so gorgeous. I would LOVE to win one.
I’ll be making the dough ornaments Thurs with a couple of 3 yr olds. Hopefully we won’t destroy the house. Thank you for all the inspiration btw.
Love the ornaments! Very cute and I have to say would look very nice on any tree!
You don’t have to put my name in for the drawing (though I sure would like a house, hee hee…) since I already have an *original* bird from the swap last year (*brag, brag*), I just wanted to tell you how great those look, especially in a grouping like that. I am *completely* right there with you on the stress. I’m trying to contain it, and doing better each time I check something off my list, but still, the stress threatens to make my head explode sometimes. Cutting the list up entirely sounds like a great plan.
i am right there with you, on the stress-thing. you’re right- whatever will be, will be! even if it means a wee bit of last-minute present-shopping. it doesn’t matter one bit.
your ornaments are lovely, as usual! i never thought to use metal or tin- they look wonderful!
Wow. I love those ornaments! They are so bright and cheery. My fingers are crossed 😉
Ooh, how cute. I’m doing a bird themed tree this year. I would love to win one.

Those birds are amazing! The houses too 🙂 I’d be honored to hang on my tree, hope to win!
I LOVE the birdies. I’m trying to wrap my little mind around what tools were used to get the ‘ruffle’ effect on the edges. I’d love to make something like this myself. ::::googling metal crafts::: 🙂 Oh, who am I kidding?!? I have about 50 “want to’s” ahead of this one. But if you’re gonna give one away….I’m in line for that too!
Oh my goodness, those are so cute!!
Your ornaments are fabulous! I especially love the birds!
Oh wow! Those ornaments all look amazing! I really like the birds!
Oh pretty please can I have a bird! I’m keeping my fingers crossed to win this one.
They are absolutely beautiful ornaments that you made. I did a kids ornament swap this year with my homeschooling group. We based ours on one of the books in the program so we had to make up a dozen felt “Angus” scotty dogs from the book Henry the Explorer. I put it up on my blog last month since we mailed them out to be delivered by Thanksgiving. The kids had a blast but the glue was pretty tacky for my son so he got to help hold things for me.
I love the birds. They have such a folk art feel. I’d love to see a whole tree full of your birds.
Joni
