Month of Me: Ironing board cover

Indirectly for me, I’ve needed one for quite a while. My old one was plain white with lots of yucky stains. This is made from a pretty vintage sheet that I thrifted a while back. I even have this thingy that keeps my board hanging on the wall all nice and neat. Now I have the pretty board hanging on my wall, almost like a flowery piece of art.

If you’d like to make one for yourself, check out THIS REALLY GREAT tutorial. Took me less than an hour to make.

Oh, and the pretty floor underneath. They are etched concrete, stained in a pretty warm yellow. They are cheerful, bright and very well suited for my craft room.

Pretty! I have that same sheet in my stash 😉

  4. Love your new ironing board cover! I was actually just looking at mine the other day & wishing that I could make a better/new one for it, but had no idea where to start… that tutorial looks great, thanks for the link! 🙂

Every time I see you use that fabric I smile… my mother has those sheets…from as far back as I can remember. They are very old, well worn and faded so it’s nice to see the fabric new again. Reminds me of being little and still under my mother’s wing. =) And I love your floors!!! How could you not be inspired to create in that bright happy room! Thanks for sharing all your great projects and tips!

Beautiful! I’ll check out the tutorial because mine is grey with yucky stains… not too fun putting my favorite quilt fabrics on there. I absolutely *love* the floors, too, they are amazing and sunny and make me want to rip out all my carpeting and just spruce up my concrete floors.

Explain the floor again…..it is just concrete, but with lines in it to look like tiles? And you painted it yellow? WOW, looks fantastic and perfect for any room with concrete floors…..love the idea!

How funny, we had that sheet set when I was little 🙂 Love the floors btw, yellow is my fav color!

I love your Month of Me idea. I desperately need a new cover for my ironing board (stained palm trees, not really my style) and I have tons of sheets I don’t know what to do with! Perfect! Thanks for the link to the tutorial.

I might have that exact same sheet (along with everyone else, it looks like)! I love buying old sheets at the Thrift store. And thanks for the link to that Instructable. We totally need one of these.

And I love your floor. I wonder if we could poor one over an existing concrete floor.
