Month of Me: Bathrobe, Kimono-style

The pattern is from Amy Butler‘s In-Stitches.  I’ve had the book and the flannel for about a year now, just sitting there–waiting. I didn’t have enough flannel so I shortened it and used a different flannel from my stash for the tie and a band around the sleeve.  It keeps me nice and warm in the morning while I drink my tea and check my e-mails.

Next up, pajama pants.  Maybe from In-Stitches? I don’t have enough warm pairs to get me through to wash day.

Confession: I’ve made a lot of the stuff I’ve been sharing during my blog break a week ago.  I just sat down one day and knocked off a few things.  So,  I haven’t been as busy as it may seem.

Very cute! We are the ones who truly treasure the things we make. We know all the effort and detail that goes in to something. Don’t get me wrong I love to make gifts for others, but there is something wonderful about owning something you’ve made.

I just made myself a kimono-style robe as well! I used I think a McCall’s pattern though, but had similar problem… I had to go back to the fabric store to buy an extra yard for the sleeves and the tie.

I also made the pj pants in In Stitches, and I highly recommend them, I wear mine ALL the time.

  3. The flannel sounds so nice & warm & cozy!

Awesome – you are really inspiring. I honestly don’t know how you whip all these things up so fast. I do like this month of me idea – maybe I should start a list and then just see what I can do in a month. I found a knit sweater pattern that I’m itching to start but haven’t found the right yarn yet. Probably knitting should go on another list – the 6 months of me 🙂

I just got a catalog with a cute kimono in it and thought I’d order it. But, I do have this book by Amy Butler and I’ll have to give it another look. Yours is cute and cozy looking. You did a nice job with the 2 fabrics.

Isn’t it nice to settle down and create something for yourself – something you’ve been wishing for but had to put off due to other priorities – something that doesn’t involve any pressure to get done? It’s sweet bliss. You’ve obviously had some wonderful, creative time. Lucky you. ;o)

I really like the length. Not too long cause that can get fussy….And don’t go giving out your secrets of where you found the time…..that is for you to know!! :o)
