I took a much needed left-brain break last week and did a bit of painting and sewing (will share soon). I also enjoyed a wonderful weekend with my sweet guy of 15 years. We celebrated our 15th anniversary with a nice vegan dinner date and a moonlit trip to the Sonora Desert Museum. It was a very lovely time.
He also surprised me with a shiny new serger!!! Something I’ve wanted forever and have been saving up for. He just picked one and crossed his fingers. He did a fine job. I was really, really shocked. What’s really funny is that when he brought me into my craft room I didn’t even notice it because my room is so dang messy right now. He said, “Looks like you’re going to have to clean up so you can have some room to sew”, hint, hint. I just glanced around the room and said, “yep”. Then he said,”WHERE are you going to sew?” That’s when I finally took a good look at my sewing space and saw my new toy. We had a really good laugh about that after I screamed, then cried.
I was very emotional–this is one of the best gifts he’s mustered up yet. He’s such a great guy. I’m completely spoiled. No one supports, encourages and loves me the way he does. No One!
So, I’ve got big plans for this week. I don’t have to work until Saturday, then school starts Monday for my Super-E. We’ve got mighty big plans for his last week of summer vacation. First thing tomorrow is homemade silly putty, then rock candy. Hopefully I’ll squeeze in some time to cut out some fabric. I have a skirt in mind and a couple of tops. Then I must tackle that serger beast. So, excited.
