Here is my completed box for Coraline’s Mystery Box swap.
I guess sharing this with you doesn’t make it a very big mystery, but what I’ll be getting in the mail soon is.
I had the hardest time with finding a box. I finally ended up painting a box that was already half painted lavender. The outside isn’t what I had intended, but it’s the inside that counts, right?
I made a small Coraline doll with a felt body and a polymer clay face. The face is glued and stitched in place. Then I made a little hand, a seeing stone and key, all with polymer clay. There’s also some buttons, thread, a thimble and some needles. Lastly, the inside lid is painted with a circus theme, which I loved in the movie. I also really love the garden, but nothing garden-y made it into the box. Ah well.
Cant wait to see what I get. There are some really great boxes out there.
That is a fabulous box your created!!
Wow, that is such an incredible box. Really really well done.
Um..Wow. That is fantastic! I went to see this movie because my ten year old read the book and loved it. I really wasn’t expecting such a great movie. Your doll is perfect, love the felt and clay combo, and the circus scene interior is too fun! Great job! 🙂
Your box is amazing – we love Coraline…
Amazing! I’m positively quaking with anticipation over which one I’ll receive. Waiting is not my fortay!
Absolutely delightful! I was wondering when you would unveil your creation – I had been looking forward to seeing what you would come up with after I saw you scribbling your ideas in your notebook when we saw the movie together. I still REALLY want blue hair:) Very nicely done sister! I love you!
ACK!! How did I miss the opportunity for such a wonderful swap! Crud!!! Your box and doll and all the little details are SOOOO wonderful! Bravo! Now… how much would you charge to do another one??? =) Just brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
So coooool!
Oh. My. Goodness…!
You have done an amazing job, as usual. You have so many talents. What fun!
This is so great – a little mystery, a lot of fun. Aren’t you fortunate to be in this swap.
I love your box. The circus detail is so creative…wish I had thought of it. 🙂 And your Coraline doll is amazing. Fantastic job!
Wow! Your Coraline is spot on. I would love to watch the movie too, but have heard it was better viewed by older kids (a bit scary for the under 5 crowd). I’ll have to rent this one and watch it on date night with my hubby. Anyway, your box is outstanding and inspiring. Your boys must get a real kick out of their creative mom.
wonderful, creative box! I absolutely love it!
