Eye care about stuff

A little pun for you.  Just feeling a little goofy, and tired this morning.  Maybe I’m feeling an adrenaline high from all of the positive feedback about my show.  The nervous queasiness is there making a slow and steadily increasing presence.

I was alerted by the MSL producer of my show that the Martha Stewart Show doesn’t air on CBS everywhere.  So please check her website on the left sidebar where is says, “Local Show Schedule” and enter your zip code.

Now an update on my sister’s surgery.  It all went really well.  She was very nervous, but a little IV sedative did the trick.  She only received local anesthesia and had her right eye covered while they worked on her left eye.  She could actually see light, movement and tools while they were working on her own eye!!!! Isn’t that totally crazy and creepy at the same time?

Hopefully her body will accept the new cornea and not try to reject it. Keep your fingers crossed for her. All of your good thoughts, prayers and kindness has helped so much already.

I sent her a little care package to help aid in her recovery.  An eye mask, an aromatherapy eye pillow with lavender and three eye patches.  She asked me for the eye patches because she will need to keep her eye covered for several days. Maybe she can coordinate them to match her outfits when she goes back to work.

Tomorrow is the last day of school, so we have been making little end-of-the-year gifts for Super-E’s friends.  Just simple little bookmarks make from cereal boxes that I found at plumpudding, via crafty crow.  We might add something else if we have the time.

I’ll be keeping your sister in my thoughts and pray for quick and easy healing for her too.

And are you sure that queasiness isn’t a little bun in the oven?

  2. HA! Oh I am positive there are no buns!! Just TV nervousness.

Thanks for the good thoughts for my sister 🙂

Oh, your sister is going to love the package, so glad she’s recovering nicely. I’ll keep thinking and sending good thoughts her way.

And do you know what? After waiting *nearly* as long as you, I don’t get the channel that Martha is on! Tomorrow I’m on a quest to find someone who will tape (do people even do that anymore?) or TIVO the show for me. I *will* see you, somehow, someway, for sure.

  7. Glad to hear all went well for your sister and love your eye kit, how thoughtful. Mean’t to congratulate you yesterday on the Martha Stewart Show, would love to see it but i’m not sure we get it in England, have enjoyed her web site maybe their will be a clip on their.Good luck x

Snazzy eye patches! I’m sure your sister will love them. I’m loving the bookmark idea…so simple, yet so fabulous! Also, I checked my local listing…so tomorrow morning at 10AM I’ll be watching you on Martha Stewart instead of watching Sesame Street. Can’t wait :o)

Good news so far for your sister. My mum had cataract and glaucoma surgery on both eyes – local anaesthetic as well – and the results were splendid.

If she has the generous spirit of her sister, it should help her through.

Where did you get the eye patch pattern? My grandma is in the hospital and doesn’t want to deal with her glass eye but is tired of having people asking her questions. I could wing it but I am so much better with instructions. Thank you-

I just saw your segment on Marth Stewart’s show and had to come visit your site. I loved it! I also wanted to tell you that I’m praying for your sister’s recovery. My father-in-law was an organ donor and his corneas were donated to someone after he passed this fall. It’s a wonderful gift. Many blessings to you!

    Eye care for children!!!!!
It has really become hot these days. Seems nothing is working for me with my college exams around the corner. It so stressful to read books for long hours as it starts hurting my eyes too. I came across this interesting link with eye care tips especially for students, take a look http://www.studylite.in/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13&Itemid=25&cid=cm
