Today is International Day of Peace. Did you know?
I didn’t really until today. Super E’s school celebrated outdoors with peace songs and dance at 11:15 to coincide with Sing Peace around the World. If you click on the link, you can hear the song that they sung.
The school in general practices peaceful connections, conflict resolution and community building while providing a safe and beautiful environment in which to learn. I am so happy that they were able to celebrate this special occasion, it’s essential for what they are trying to teach the children..
I am sad I had to miss the school event so I thought I’d share some peace and love instead, with a celebratory giveaway!! These little peace tags are made from painted, sewn and embellished canvas.
Giveaway rules:
* to enter leave one comment on this post (tell me which color you like most).
* I’ll announce FOUR winners later this week.
* Good Luck and Peace!!
UPDATE!!! The winners are…

aww that’s awesome!! what a great celebration!!
Awesome! Didn’t know about that celebration.
I love the gold/rust color the best!
Ooh I like the colours of the green one best but the spotty background on he blue is so lovely!
I like the pink card with the turquoise yarn the best. Peace!!
They are all pretty, but the pink and blue is my favorite. Thanks for reminding people of Peace Day. I just had to go to the wishing shrine here in Tucson to light some candles for peace. It was nice to meet up with people thinking the same thing… peace be with you and everyone today and everyday!!!
Peace! Oh, so pretty, The green is my favorite, have a great day! thanks!
Peace and love always. Green is my favorite, but I love them all.
I like them all!
Peace is one of my favorite things to say – but especially to hear – ‘Peace be with you’ – just soothes my soul…
I love them all – but I would pick green for Scout…
Peace be with you!
I adore the yellow one! Cheery and sunny!
It’s so nice to know!
MMy favorite is turquoise
I forgot my email
Peace!
Regina these are lovely! Its great when schools participate in worldwide things like that. I remember hands around the world at Taylor Hicks the pink and blue ones are my favorites
Those are so lovely! My son’s school also participated in the Sing Peace Around the World event. He was excited to talk about it when we got home. The blog has links to YouTube videos that people have uploaded around the world of their children participating. My son loved seeing all the other children singing the same song and I think that made the connection for him about what they were doing — that it wasn’t just the children at his school singing. In any case, I LOVE the yellow one!
Those are so pretty!! They’d make good bookmarks. I would one in my craft/guest room. It’s hard to choose just one, but I’d have to go with green. 🙂
oh this is great – I just heard about this today myself. I like the second one from the right.
Yay! Sofia’s school participated in the Sing Peace Around the World, too! What a cool connection. Love that. Peace to you and your family!
I did know about this and had good intentions to make a white bird from a pattern i found in a book but i got so wrapped up in my weekend painting it never happened. Should have been in Glastonbury today too for a peace meditation too but it wasnt’ mean’t to be and as my son started his first day at his new nursery it’s just as well. If i had to pick a favourite it would be the yellow one and the sentiment behind them is very important so if i one any of them it would be great 🙂
I absolutely love the Pink one. What a great school to celebrate a wonderful day…too bad ALL schools do not take the time to celebrate peace, especially given the times =)
OOH, ooh, the PINK one!! I love pink, and peace signs! 🙂
I love them!
So pretty, as are all your creations. Your creative expression is always inspiring. I love the green and the cream is beautiful too.
they are awesome! I’m liking the blue with purple polka dots, but I keep getting lost in the greens too!
Thanks for informing us to peace day.
I’m torn between the girly girl in me that loves pink and the bright and cheery feeling that comes with my love of orange. Hmmmm…I’m going with the orange one! I love it! thanks for a chance to win some of your beautifully crafted handiwork.
I like the pink the best! Thanks for your inspiration!
We had a pinwheels for peace celebration at the Montessori I work at. It was so much fun! I’m picking up my pinwheel tomorrow, but then I think I’ll leave it someplace else for another person to find. I wrote Cat Stevens lyrics on mine.
I like the yellow and green tags.
I didn’t know :-O
I love the orange one 🙂
