inspired

Have I mentioned how I much I love Marissa’s In the Fishbowl e-course? Well, I really do love it.  She has brought up some really tough (for me)questions about why I do what I do, why do I love it, and most importantly how do I see myself in relation to my work. THe last one is the hard one for me. There is more. So much more that she has covered.  It’s been hard for me to really figure this all out. My thoughts and ideas seem so fragmented, but I feel progress in straightening all this out in my head.  Slowly, slowly, slowly.

During this last session, Marissa spoke a lot about blog presence and making your blog a place you love and want to be, like your favorite room in your home.  I do love my blog, and feel some freshening up needed in terms of a new banner (it’s been a while) .  Then she spoke about inspiration or vision boards. The whole thing got me thinking about my craft room and my boards. My craft room has been in a disastrous state for a while and it has not been a space of creativity. I’ve been camped out on the dining room table. I decided to put an end to that and cleaned everything! EVERYTHING. It was liberating. I threw a bag of stuff away and a box of stuff to donate to goodwill. I also tackled my inspiration wall.  It was wonderful, like I cleared out my head a bit.

I hung new art up, new images that I love from magazines and covered the drawers of my FIRA drawers.  I accomplished so much today and am ready to tackle the rest of the house.  The kid’s room and living room (which is covered with toys)is on at the top of the list.  I feel energized and excited to get this cleaning out of my system.

Now, I’m off to watch Glee!!! Yippeeeee!!

  1. It sounds like you had your batteries re-charged big time, there is nothing like it, a buzz in the right direction. I need to do some of those boards. The Secret suggests boards, things you would wish for, to manifest, i have the board, and started flicking but obviously i’m so caught up in my creativeness that there is no hurry to manifest lol 🙂

Thanks for the peek inside your craft room. I love your inspiration wall, and just seeing the room in general is inspiring me to get all my crafty stuff in order. Also, I have that same little wooden organizer and now have the urge to decorate it. Thanks!

    Regina,

Thanks for stopping by my blog! The fishbowl class has inspired me to clean my art room as well, which is my weekend project. I love your blog, there is design unity to it, and the banner is just superb!

When my house looks as though it is getting out of control, I know that is is time to start looking at what is causing me some stress.

There is no doubt that – for me – to get up and do something about it really helps to relieve some of that stress.

Another tip if you are ever feeling down is to go out and walk around LOOKING UP – make sure you look down enough to see obstacles!!!!

In the house as well, if you can’t get out – look up – it ‘drags’ your feelings up.

Oh Regina! Cleaning things out does create such a great flow of creative energy! I am so happy to hear you are reaping that inspiration now. Your inspiration board is really neat. I am have been scheming to make one too for my craft room. I love how you put your fibers that you are so happy about on there.
I can’t wait to come see your progress. Good for you!

  17. Love your space and your inspiration board. It feels great to clean and start fresh.

Beautiful boards! Did you put the board together yourself? Are they cork (or some similar material) wrapped in fabric? I would love to have one like it.
