reversible market tote

Here is one of the ten market totes I am making as gifts.  Yes, only one has been made so far. There will be no selling of these babies. It just ruins my sewing experience which is always on the verge of going awry.  I love sewing for myself and for gifts, but beyond that, repeated sewing of the same item would make me bonkers for sure.

I’m am really happy with how this turned out and am excited to get the others underway, especially since have my pattern figured out.  Sadly, I could have used the pattern in Heather Ross’s Weekend Sewing, which would have saved me a whole lot of trouble,  but didn’t realize there was one until this one was already made. Mine is smaller but still big enough to carry a good load of market items. It is roughly 18 x 22 inches.  I hope to spend the next few days making a few more if I can.  I just love that sunny yellow floral print.

This bag is so cute, and what a great use for your vintage fabric. I also love the cheerful, sunny yellow.
