getting better

We are STILL struggling to get better in this house.  A few days ago my little I-guy was diagnosed with pneumonia. A mild case, but still one that has kept the poor guy home from school all week. He’s on antibiotics and finally on the road to recovery! YAY!

It is hard for me when the kids get this sick.  This will be the second time ever, that my kids  have ever been on antibiotics. For a nurse, I am pretty anti medication and will turn to nutritious foods, herbs, teas and tonics first.  I always trust that our bodies will do what they need to do to reach health and homeostasis. When it doesn’t work that way, I worry, worry, worry, wondering what I did or didn’t do. I am better now that we know what is going on and he is getting better.

Since he has been home all week, we’ve had some creative time together. Between fevers, when he has had some energy, he has been wanting to paint and draw (man, I love this kid!).  So the other day we painted. Above is his masterpiece.

I feel an end in sight.  I hope to have him all back to normal next week.

Oh, poor baby! Hope he is fully recovered soon, and then you can both sleep easy. It is so so tough when the kids are sick, I know! Take care.

How refreshing to hear a nurse understand that pharmaceuticals should be used as a last resort. I’m sure he’ll be back to normal and stronger than every soon! You have very lucky kids. 🙂

Nothing worse than when your child is ill, hope he’s ‘in the pink’ really soon.

  5. Aww, that must be hard. It’s nice you get a little creative time with him though. His painting is making me happy. 🙂
