journal cover

I painted this sweet little girl for the cover of my red-rosin paper journal. I love her blue sweater and matching blue hat.

I also prepped some 6cm x 6cm wood blocks for some mini paintings with encaustic wax. I hope to get to work on those this weekend–keeping fingers crossed.

You´re on a creative roll! It´s so sweet the cover. And I am really looking forward to seeing your encaustic pictures! The beginning is certainly looking interesting. I love handwriting and text being incorporated into art.

I’m prepping myself to do some encaustic work too after taking P. Seggebruch’s class at Artfest last year. I finally got myself an old electric frying pan (free, of course) so that I can melt my wax & have been collecting all the rest of the goods. What did you use to adhere your papers to your blocks?
