acrylic on 4×4 canvas (sold!! Thank you Elsa!)
We found this sweet little bird in the middle of the road on Monday when we went out for a family bike ride.
The kids spotted him and we are so thankful that we didn’t run him over.
It was already starting to get hot (we hit 95 degrees that day ~35C) and he was sitting in the full sun. I was able to coax him onto a stick and carried him to the side of the road under a shady tree. We hope he did okay. He was so cute, only about 2 inches big!!!
That sweet little bird is what inspired the fun little painting above.
so LOVE this painting Regina. You captured him perfectly in paint. How wonderful.
Thank you Angella!
What a little sweety:)

The picture is amazing.
Thanks Glenda 🙂
Regina ~ this is a lovely painting! Is it for sale by chance? I’ve got a space on the wall waiting for something just like this!
Thank you Elsa! He’s getting packed up right now 🙂
When you do an acrylic painting on canvas, do you use a pencil to sketch on the canvas first what you are going to draw and if so, what kind?
Hi Carol, I use stabillo marks all pencils. They come in black, white, brown, blue, red and yellow.
Hi Regina! I love the lively colors you use to depict your sweet subjects – birds, flowers…Have you given more thought to teaching a class (I live in Tucson – am enjoying your sun face painting I was lucky to purchase) – I know before you said you didn’t have much space…how about “a painting tea for four”? Painting, tea, and an awesome artist!
wheels are turning Koliti! Thanks for the idea.
Regina, this a a great idea, you would be perfect.
