A few new paintings, vibrant and bursting with color.

I had someone actually write me an email asking me to do a painting for them, but in more “monotone and earthy colors”. They also wrote that my colors were “a little too bright” for their taste.  Why this person even wrote to me in the first place is a bit odd. Color is OBVIOUSLY my thing!

Just take a quick look at my flickr photostream. If the colors I use don’t high-five you in the eyeballs, I don’t know what will.

I had to politely decline.  The colors I use in my paintings are an extension of me and my style.  It is everything to me and how I express myself.  If I don’t have the artistic freedom I need to make a custom painting, then I promise I won’t be happy making it, and the buyer will not be happy receiving it.

Plus, always be weary of these kinds of requests.  This is usually a red flag for a hard-to-please customer.

Never compromise your style! Ever!
