It’s been 1 year! Can you believe it? About 14 months ago, I had never even heard of a blog. Then one day my hubby was (somewhat sarcastically) commenting about people having online personal journals that were publicly read. “Really?”, I thought,” That’s weird” So, I did some investigating.
The very first blog I EVER read was Colleen’s Open Notebook (how I stumbled upon it I’ll never know). I was fascinated by her honesty and humor and by the fact that I was reading her personal thoughts and views- and so were other people! The whole idea thrilled and excited me. The very next day I started my very first blog. This private blog still exists, but it is purely my family blog filled with pictures, stories and events all pertaining to my two boys. I found that it was a perfect way to share my little guys with my close friends and family that lived far away.
For the two months that followed, I began to discover crafting blogs!!! Holy cow was I truly amazed to see so many creative, wonderful, and inspiring people with creative interests similar to my own. Then I found Illustration Friday. That sealed the deal.
On October 15th, 2005, I started Creative Kismet. This blog would focus purely on my creative side of life. Anything that I made with my two hands, whether it be crafts, art or cooking, I was going to document and post it. AND BOY! what a wonderful journey it has been. I have been more creative in the last year than ever before and have been loving every moment of it. The absolute BEST part of it all has been the talented, wonderful, honest, creative, and amazing people that I have “met” along the way. The very special connections and friendships that have been made. The amazing support and kind words. Without you it would be so much less meaningful. Even though I don’t respond to every comment and email as well as I should, please know that every supportive and encouraging word is VERY MUCH appreciated.

Yeah, Happy Blogiversay!!!!! What a sweet and heartfelt post. Can’t believe it has been a year…..for I am not too far behind you. It sure is wonderful how things evolve. I would feel kind of selfish putting my name in for the beautiful boxes, cause I already have one that I treasure sooooooo much…..but you can’t have too much Kismet, that is for sure. They are beautiful boxes, like little birthday cakes.
