You’re my cuppa tea!

Today is ‘You’re my cuppa tea’ virtual tea party and swap day. Nothing fancy since I’m under the weather today, but a cuppa tea is perfect for my very sore throat. Tea is perfect for everyday really.

Lemon Gem cupcakes (from Vwav) were a perfect addition to the sweet fruity herbal teas given to me by my swap partner. I-guy was my tea party partner today. Most days he is very insistant on sharing my cup of tea, and some days I oblige him with his own herbal or decaf cup.

Today, being a very special tea party day, he had his in a ceramic tea cup instead of his usual spill-free sippy cup. He did well- only a wee bit spilled. I tried to get his pinky finger out, but he would have none of that!

These lovely goods were given to me by the very talented and generous Judy Scott. Isn’t everything gorgeous!?! I just love my Tea-pot Lady. I have to find somewhere very special to hang her. I am so lucky to receive these things from her. Judy’s handmade teasures are all very beatiful! Thanks Judy!

One of the things she sent was a pamphlet on how to brew the perfect cup. Here are a few things I found very interesting(from Whittard of Chelsea):

~
Tea is a natural source of flouride and delivers approx. 45% of your daily requirement if you drink 3-4 cups per day.
~
Green tea is also antibacterial and helps combat bad breath.
~
A cup of black tea has about half the caffeine of a cup of coffee, green tea has even less.
~
Tea actually contains more caffeine per gram than coffee but you use much less to make a cup.
~
There is more than twice the antioxidant power in a cup of tea than there is in one apple!
~

Now how do you like that! I like it very much. So much so, I think I’ll have another cup and then take a nap. I have to rest up and get better for the Earth day celebrations tomorow!
