Pleading with prizes

It has been bothering me for a while that my website doesn’t look quite right in Internet Explorer 6.0. It’s all wonky with the sidebar on the bottom and it’s REALLY irritating since half of the people who look at my website use 6.0 AND part of being an anal crafter/artist is that everything be aesthetically pleasing and perfectly pretty. I have spent the last two days trying to correct this problem on my side and BOY has it been a P-A-I-N!! So, you may notice a little bit of a change in my actual site, which actually helped a bit.

While looking into this problem, it seems that a lot of wordpress folks run into the same issues. I use Firefox as my browser and have no problems viewing other sites. Well, I got to thinking, wouldn’t it be great if EVERYONE could see through these rosie colored specs as I do? So my challenge/plead to you is to either upgrade to Explorer7.0 or upload Firefox. To make it easy I’ve added links for you here above.

Now, all you have to do, is comment saying that you either already have one of the upgraded versions or that you have, in fact, just uploaded an upgraded version and I’ll send something fabulous to 3 people. I’ll give you a week before I draw 3 names, say September 15. I’m begging, pleading and asking ever so super nicely.

And to butter you up a bit, a picture of my fabric stash in my newly finished craft cabinet–something sewn perhaps?

We use Firefox already, so your website has been looking fabulous all along 🙂 Oooooo, I’m oh-so-envious of your stash… And by the way, I forgot to comment on your baby shoes post. I loved those little shoes so much I had to make some for my newborn nephew. Here is a photo of the ones I made: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cahillman/792801139/

Your website is always inspiring on Firefox on my Mac!

  3. I’ve been using Firefox for ages now. I forget that I even have IE on the computer. Firefox has this great feature of multiple tabs so that you can open lots of sites at the same time with ease. It’s a great browser! Your site always looks good to me, sorry to hear that some people don’t get to see it all pretty. The new craft cabinet is looking pretty good. 🙂

I love me some Firefox…been using it forever now and am typically annoyed when I have to use IE for anything, lol. The little tweaks you gave the site look great, by the way!!

I also belong to the group of people who have used Firefox for ages and would never even consider replacing it with IE. I’m actually so used to Firefox being THE browser in my life that I tend to forget that it isn’t in everybody else’s.

  6. Suzi says:

It seems I belong to the majority – I also use firefox at home.
My work refuses to upgrade us to IE7 or let us use firefox at all – it’s really frustrating..

I love Firefox too….it’s so much better than IE. I LOVE your cabinet – that’s the repurposed one, right?? It looks great!!!!

  8. beki says:

I’m a loyal firefox user. I hate using anything else.

I use Firefox, myself. Took me a bit to get used to it, but now it´s old hat! I love your fabric stash. We´re in the middle of building, so I have nowhere to put any fabric that I might buy.

Also, thanks for that baby shoe pattern you put up ages back. I made a pair for a friend´s baby and used your idea for decorating onesies, too. Only it was a boy so I made a denim pocket for the onesie, with his name embroidered on it, instead!

  12. Lindsey says:

I’ve been using Firefox ever since the last upgrade of Explorer kept booting me from my email as I was trying to read.

Your fabric cabinet is beautiful and inspiring. I love organized color, and mine is a bit of a jumble right now. Thanks for sharing the picture!

My husband (and also my sister’s boyfriend) are on a quest to convert the world to Firefox, so you’re helping with the crusade. Your craft area is looking good, just think of all the stuff you’ll be able to crank out (and what a big mess you’ll be able to make) when you start going *part time*! Whoo hoo!

  14. Jenn says:

I already use Firefox, so everything looks beautiful over here! 🙂

  15. analilia says:

    I use Firefox, too!

  16. I use firefox (and have for quite a long time)! I love how the latest version of firefox even does spell check on stuff that I type like comments! 🙂 I had some issues with getting my site to look okay in IE for awhile too… It seems to work nowadays, but it was such a pain so I can totally relate! 🙂

By the way, your fabric shelves look beautiful!

  17. Emily says:

Firefox is what I use, too. Your craft cabinet does look very appealing. So much prettier and accessible than boxes in a closet, like I have! You always inspire me.

  18. Heidi says:

I use Firefox (after a co-worker told me all the cool people do) and your site looks great!

  19. ellie says:

I’m a huge firefox fan, but admittedly also a huge rss fan, so I usually see you through Google reader. Your site is super lovely every time I click over though!

  23. susan says:

boo on IE. we say that at least one time a week here… great you were able to work through it!
    love me firefox here…
(your stash is looking really tidy and pretty!)
psss. just added you to my links. lost ya there for awhile!

  24. Christina says:

Hi:) I’ve been using Firefox for a real long time as well because I think it works much better on many more webpages. My boyfriend who does AI thinks so too:) Because I’m also into design (newly educated architect); it also does matter to me to view sites properly;) so I’m as anal as you!

    All the best,
    Christina

  25. Becky says:

I just downloaded Firefox. I wish my fabric stash looked like yours does! Have a great week!

  26. Celeste says:

I sympathise, I hate having to design websites for IE, in fact I gave up attempting to on my personal site. If I come across a site that needs me to use IE I tend to just skip past it.
    Firefox all the way.
BTW I love your ever so tidy craft cabinet.

  27. Lynn says:

I have been using firefox for a while, and I love it. I cannot believe how tidy your craft cabinet is!
