Much of the holiday decor, merry making, food and cookie baking has been a part of preparations, for the visit of some very dear friends (and their pretty girl Ruby). It was also an attempt, in vain, to keep them here with us FOREVER. But alas, they have joyously swept through, and in a blink of an eye, they are gone…
Playing with my friend’s Nikon D40 and zoom lens
Now all is quiet and we can fondly reflect on our brief, but good time together. And the good food, too! In fact, we enjoyed so much good food, that I think I am totally DONE for the year. Bursting at the seams!
See links for recipes info.
Sticky Buns (top and bottom) from Artisan Bread in 5 minutes
Chocolate Crinkles and Ginger Snap Stars
Anzac cookies (my family’s favorite- I make them every year)
I also made the most delicious Cranberry Ginger Shrub – found the recipe from Vegan Knitting. I did everything she did but added the zest and juice of one lemon before the final boil. It was sooo good. The shrub made a very nice cocktail: 1oz vodka and 2 oz shrub over ice with club soda. YUM!
Have a nice night and see you tomorrow.
