A little reminder

I made this to hang right by the door, just under the keys to help us remember our fabric grocery bags.  For a long time we were doing so well, but we’ve forgotten a few too many times in the last couple of weeks.

It’s made on a small 4 x 6 wooden plaque (I have tons of these from long ago) and used a small scrap of vintage fabric for the bag.

Another great way to remember is to give the job of remembering to your kids.  I know my guys LOVE to remind us when we are forgetting something.

If you are coming from watching my re-run show on Martha Stewart, welcome.  You can read more about my experience on the following posts…

Q&A and Thank you

Looking back, I still can’t believe that I was on the show.  Seams very surreal.  When I see myself up on the screen with Martha, I think, “who is that girl?”  Just boggles my mind still.

Great idea! I’m always forgetting my reusable bags. Something like this would definitely help. 🙂

What a clever reminder. Now if I was creative enough I’d make a sign to remind people to take their shoes off…something funny like “come in and bear your sole” Okay, that was dorky, but something’s gotta be better than please remove your shoes, right?

Wow, you were on Martha Stewart! I didn’t know. A belated congrats!

Love the reminder plaque, especially the flowers on the bag and the decoration around the edges.

i so need one of these. I just came back from the store forgetting my bags again. I think I need to teach the baby new words: “grocery bags” We’ll see how well that turns out.

Very cute. If you’re not crafty you can get what my friend got me for Christmas last year to help me with my bagnesia (amnesia with reusable bags). A reminder kit from http://www.bagnesia.com -it has all of these clever reminders in it and it’s own compact reusable bag that is always in my purse. Now I give them as house warming presents and hostess gifts because the whole kit is under $20

What a clever plaque!! I am at about 50% at remembering to bring my reusable bags. It is frustrating! Has this helped you? Just found your blog, so am off to peek around.

WOW, YOU WERE STANDING BESIDE MARTHA ON TV! How cool is that and how did you get there. Did you contact her and ask for an audiance or did her people contact you? I haven’t been around for some time so I am out of the loop.
    Congratulations!

you should put a double coat hanger on the bottom of that, so you see the sign and grab the bags from there, and when you bring stuff in, hang them on that 😀
now if I could remember to do that!!
(I swiped a bunch of shirts from a friend, who’s husband is a painter and made tee shirt bags to keep in my trunk, they are hideous but they work great when I forget!)
