going green

I’m on the 4th day of my Crazy Sexy Diet cleanse and so far so good.  I, of course don’t eat any meat or dairy and I rarely drink alcohol so it really hasn’t been too hard.  The sugar, coffee and the gluten have been what I’ve had to cut out this week and that has been a little hard, especially when delicious smelling coffee  is being brewed in the teeny little office I work in!! Oh, and the bag of chocolate hearts that was brought into the office too, that got my heart rate up a bit!  But, I managed to ignore them both! I can do this for 16 more days, right?

My goal is not to lose  a lot of weight, maybe 5 lbs, but to get rid of my little “muffin top” tummy.  It’s been plaguing me since the birth of my second child.  I know it’s the excess sugar and bread that I eat, so I will have to wait and see if this cleanse helps any.

So part of the cleanse is to drink green smoothies or green juice for breakfast. This part has been wonderful. I can’t wait to wake up and have my morning smoothie.  They are the perfect energy that I need to start my morning. The salad dressing recipes in the book have been amazing too and I look forward to devouring my greens for lunch and dinner every day.  YUM! I love salad anyway, but it’s nice to have an arsenal of tasty dressing to dress them up with.

I made a journal to keep track of my progress.  The book has a checklist and questions to go through everyday and I’ve been enjoying the writing and tracking my yoga, which I used to do regularly, but somehow was lost. Now I’m getting up early and hitting the mat.

My journal was made with various pieces of paper folded in half and then grouped together into 6 signatures which I bound together using the coptic stitch. My first time ever trying this.  I think I’ll be making more little journals.

Your journal is superlative!! I love the illustrations and color choices. You showed admirable constraint with the chocolate hearts! I need to cut sugar out of my diet, too. Good luck on the diet!

Oh my goodness! I have been feeling a little puffy too, but oh my, I do not know if I can cut out my daily glass of wine (or coffee!!). I always reason that wine helps reduce stress and stress is a weight gainer. Anyway, I can’t wait to hear how your cleansing goes! I would love to try it.

Also, your journal looks gorgeous. I swear that I see artwork similar to yours in more commercial settings now. I think you are a trend setter for sure. Hmmm . . . do you design any little boy room artwork? I have been on the search for a few weeks now. Anyhoo, talk more soon!

I’ll have to watch your progress. Your goals are my same goals. Nothing has worked for me, so I’m anxious to see what works for you. Please continue sharing what does work & doesn’t!

How did it go? I got the book yesterday after ordering it right after you blogged about your gift (takes longer time to get them mailed to norway 🙂

I’ve read quite a bit, also on her website, and know I’ll start on my 21-days on monday.

This is a great way to stay motivated, just so you can pick up the pretty journal and write in it. I might have to try it once Wee Too is born. I have one child so far and just so you know, had a muffin top after him!!! I can only imagine what things might look like after this little one gets here….but it’s good to know I’m in good company with other women, thanks for sharing.
