Ascending

We live in an ascending scale when we live happily, one thing leading to another in an endless series. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

I finally got a little bit of painting out of my system. I think I just needed to start, pick up the brush and paint anything, letting it grow on it’s own. That’s exactly what happened.

I painted in my red rosin journal and just started with a circle which turned into an oval and then a face. And without thinking too much, a house appeared, some trees, the sun and moon and finally an ascending path.

Sometimes I think too much! It felt good to play, let loose and rise above my own expectations.  Ahhhhhhh, pure bliss.

Oh this is fab and bit spooky…I’ll explain… I put my paints out yesterday thinking ‘right I just going to play, doodle whatever’..just to start-no pressure etc…well I got a bit of time in the evening and my painting evolved into a hill with a face and sun shining down..hmm-see what I mean! 🙂

  4. This is gorgeous Regina, as always. I love your work so much. And by the way, I swear you must live inside my head because I feel every single thing you pin and paint is exactly what I would pin or paint. Going to have to try that red rosin paper… I am always looking for great surfaces to paint. My current favorites are gessoe’d cereal boxes.
