painted canvas summer tote

It never fails! I always have a super intense desire to make some kind of bag the day before heading out of town for vacation.

We leave for a little family vacation tomorrow, so of course I had to whip something up, quick! I knew exactly what it would be.  A BIG hand painted canvas tote, just like THIS one that I made last year.  It is perfect for towels and beach stuff. I can even use it for pool trips for the rest of the summer. Right now, it carries 3 beach towels, all of our swim suits and sun lotions–so it is nice and big.

One of my big dreams is to do workshops teaching how to make these bags. My old tote is used for work almost daily and one year later, it has held up really well.  It is really fun to make too. It took me about 5 hours to make, which would make a good full day workshop. Maybe I will be brave and apply to teach at a few art retreats….

  1. You really should apply to teach at art retreats. I would come to your class. Love the bag.

Oh, the new bag is beautiful ~ the old one too! I’d love to learn how to paint and make a bag like them.

My first thought was, “how did she do that?!” I absolutely love it.
