nine more faces

9 faces by Regina Lord

Here is day 12-20 of my daily portrait painting challenge in my art journal. My art journal is getting nice and fat. I love that!

I am still doing them within a 20-30 minute time frame.  I plan on doing 5 more days and then will start working on actual canvas or wood panels.  It’s time to get over my fear of big blank canvases.

Wow! You are doing so well with this challenge you have set for yourself Regina. Don’t be afraid of the canvas – mistakes can be painted over. Nothing is ever so bad it can’t be fixed, just trust in yourself. A little hint that I have found to help is to cover the canvas in a solid colour that complements your image and then paint onto that. Go into the Art Journey section of my blog if you like and you will find some examples of this. Cleo the owl that I did comes to mind. You can allow it to show through or paint over it completely. Hope this helps. Love your work and love seeing how it has developed over all these years of your blog.

love all your portraits from this challenge. Will miss them- they have been soooo inspiring. cant wait to see what you do with canvass and wood. I am also intimidated by canvasses 🙂 what’s with that??!!! Have a happy creative successful week.
    much love.
