red roses and mercury glass

Today, I had a little birthday celebration for my friend Vanessa.

I wanted to pretty up the table with some roses that I bought (her favorite), but didn’t have a vase that worked. Then I remember the diy mercury glass projects that I’ve seen all over pinterest.

Fortunately, I’ve been collecting recycled glass jars and bottles for this and I had the Looking Glass spray already. I did use one real vase, the little round one that I got at Target for $1.50.

I love how they turned out and they look awesome with red roses and candles.

The birthday party was so much fun. We made our way outside under the full moon with candles and made wishes. The sky was clear and it was only mildly warm with a nice breeze. Just perfect!!

Not bad. I never knew metal vases would look so good with roses in them. Or that roses would look good in metallic vases. They simply are a match.

That is some gorgeous photography. Good choice of vases for the richness of the red roses. Well done!
