Visual Quest

vision quest

I’m going on a Visual Quest journey, starting tomorrow, with Pixie Campbell and I cannot wait!

I’ve been watching Pixie Campbell videos (Sacred Grit) and it has all been resonating with me so much that I knew I needed this, so my sweet hubby gifted this to me as an anniversary gift.

When I was in nursing school at NAU, we studied many modalities as forms of healing with the belief that caring for the mind, body & spirit combined would help achieve optimal wellness/wholeness. I still carry this with me to this day. We studied alternative methods including herbal remedies, message, reiki and we met medicine men. We were taught that whatever was needed to achieve wellness should be respected.

We spent a lot of time on the Navajo Nation, learning about their culture, beliefs, how they would heal themselves and each other. We even spent several days on the reservation cutting wood for the elders. We cut lots of wood, which I had never done before, and I was so incredibly sore and exhausted. But it was so worth it. The elders were incredibly thankful and kind. They would bring us into their small homes and tell us stories. Amazing stories. We did this for 3 days. And on the third night, we were given the most amazing and beautiful ceremonial dinner. I will never forget my time there.

Everything I learned that semester was so fascinating to me and I remember wanting to learn more. I am especially interesting in finding my animal spirit and am so excited to have this opportunity to learn and grow in this way.

Class starts tomorrow and I can’t wait!

Sounds like it’s going to be an incredible experience. Have a brilliant time during this part of your journey and I look forward to hearing about it soon! I so LOVE to hear health professionals talk holistically. As a patient that type of approach and care is what I yearn for. Integrative therapists are few and far between in my neck of the woods.
