I finished my little portrait paintings. You can see the initial sketches here.
It is really hard not to lose that sketched face underneath. With one wrong (or right) paint stroke, you can completely change the expression or look that you are going for.
So, some are spot on, and other are a little different.
It doesn’t really matter though because the colors make the sketch come alive, either way.
since i’ve been following your blog i must admit, you’re getting better and better. i totally love your paintings…these faces!! the girl with the flower dress in the middle is my favorite.
best wishes to you!

SHe is my favorite too! Thanks for the sweet comment 🙂
know exactly what you mean Regina, usually my sketches turn out looking very different after they are painted than they did before, luckily I dont really mind that – but it does take a lot of skill to do them spot on. I think your portraits are getting so good- each time I see one I fall more in love with your style of painting than I was before (and I loved it a lot before) 🙂

These are awesome, Regina! I also really love the woman with the flowered shirt. It gives her a really intense look how you paired the dark background and dark hair, really makes her eyes sparkle. 🙂
Yes, she seems very focused and determined. 🙂 Thanks Barb!
regina, i am agreeing with all the above comments these are wonderful!!
I really love these-especially the eye contact that shares a secret thought.
Nice work.Love it.
Beautiful. Each painting has so much personality. I love the skin colors and shading.
These are magical, Regina! Makes me want to draw faces too!
