Sorry for all the quietness over here on my blog. I have been busy, busy painting this piece. A true labor of love, I’ve been working on it for almost 4 days straight! The night sky and moonlight took me some time to get just right. It is a big painting, 18 x 24 inches. Big, for me, anyway.
I am entering this piece in the 2014 All Souls Procession Art Poster Competition for next years festivities.
I wanted my painting to focus more on the feminine side, with the female spirit angel floating above with the strong light of la luna (the moon). Below them, a community of people joining in procession to honor and celebrate loved ones with candle light.
I am really excited about this painting. It embodies everything I love about Tucson and Day of the Dead.
