We took an hour drive up the mountain today to escape the awful heat.
It was so crazy beautiful with the clouds floating through.
It was also about 40 degrees cooler and very windy but we loved every chilly second!
We brought our lunch and walked around for bit collecting pine cones and wild flowers.
And we admired the magical twinkling of the aspen leaves.
Then we drove home and I made a delicious apple crisp. The perfect way to end a beautiful first day of Fall.
what absolutely gorgeous photos Regina – makes me feel as if I have been there! what a lovely day you must have had. We are in Spring here in SA but it is so hot already that it feels like we went straight from winter to summer! 🙂
Lovely photos of your hike. Apple crisp to come home for ~ yummy!
It’s been raining here in Portland and getting cold. I did so enjoy the summer this year, but ready for the colder weather and all the layers to wear.
The fog makes it look so mysterious; you captured it beautifully!
