We have a hunger of the mind which asks for knowledge of all around us, and the more we gain, the more is our desire; the more we see, the more we are capable of seeing.~Maria Mitchell
The more I learn about this amazing thing called breastfeeding, the more I want to run out and save all the babies of the world. It’s pretty amazing stuff! As you can see, I am STILL studying for my IBCLC exam, which is on July 28th. My head is exploding with so much information and I still have lots more to learn. It is so fascinating, that my 4 hours of studying per day hasn’t been so horrible at all (most days).

It’s a topic I am most enthusiastic about myself. I’ve always been put off by religious zealots, but find it very difficult to hold my tongue on this topic and not come off all “La Lache.” Which I don’t even belong to. Yay for boobies!

It’s a wonderful thing – and the more people like you that are out there to help the moms that struggle – the more success stories there will be! I am grateful every day to the LC in the hospital when my son was born for getting us started and working through a few little issues, and we nursed happily for 20 months.

Good luck on your test!! I always get excited hearing about breastfeeding:-) I have happily nursed all 3 of my babes. My youngest (who just turned 2) still nurses. I tandem nursed my older, as they are 17 months apart… tandem nursed them for 2 years. They both quit nursing at the same time, lol.

Dear Regina: Good luck next month! I have to recertify (no exam) this year for the third time now.
I have been thinking of doing an art display at a future ILCA conference. What do you think?
