pins or magnets?

Here are some trades that I have been working on for artfest.  I think I got a little carried away. They were supposed to be simple, quick and really easy, but I loved the process. I just got lost in time and painted tiny little pictures for most of the day. It was really fun. I love getting lost like that.

After I painted them, I decided to get a little daring and added wax. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but the end result turned out great. I love the subdued color and the added texture. I wish you could see them in person.

Now, the question is whether I should glue on magnets for the fridge or pins to wear.  Maybe both? I can’t decide. Help!

Oh, I love those so much! Whenever you see my comments, you must just think “Oh, there’s that Michelle again,” but seriously I just think those are fantastic. It’s a toss up between magnets or pins, because on the one hand, I think pins would allow your little pieces of art to see the world and be enjoyed by more people, but then again magnets on the fridge are seen multiple times a day…! I’m no help, but maybe that means both?

I think magnets would be really neat… but then, i have a fridge that doesnt attract magnets! So magnets are pretty useless to me actually 🙂

    :)…michelle really cracks me up.

i’d go with magnets. you don’t really know the recipients and not everyone is a pin wearer… but i would guess everyone has a fridge.

    they’re sweet…and i love the wax

  4. Their really sweet, what have you drawn them onto?

  5. pixie says:

pins! I want the bird one…no no, the princess with the shiny crown…no the little house…..pins, pins. Lots of my friends would wear pins.

  6. yasmina says:

Pins! definitely pins, they are too beautiful to put on a fridge!

  7. liz says:

i love them! i can’t even decide which is my favorite.
i think either magnets or pins would be awesome.
magnets would be easy… but i’m leaning more towards pins. if you made them into pins you could even add a little felt backing/border.

either way — they are super cute and the recipients will love them!

  8. both! But if you have to chose, then pins!

  9. Teresa says:

Either or both – they are gorgeous! Are you going to sell some too? Please say yes!

  11. Hope says:

Both are a great idea, but may I offer another suggestion . . .rings!!!
They may be a bit large, but would be neat for some of them. Definitely would make a statement.

  13. Patricia says:

I would love them as pins or magnets, but I’m voting for pins! Everyone can pin them on something–if not a jacket or scarf, then a bag…my knitting bag carries the funnest pins around!

  14. Linda says:

Pins or both. They are so beautiful! Yes, sell some!

  15. raquel says:

I think both.As pins I would put them in bags, scarfs, on a hand made doll for me. As magnets in my fridge, but it is a little bit crowded, so I would put them in my sewing machine!!!!
Lovely, especially the one with the Queen butterfly!

I love your work and have been by here on occasion. Not sure how I first discovered your blog. While I think pins would be fabulous to show off to others I know if these were on my fridge they’d make me smile SO much every time I went to get something from the fridge. They’re lovely! Thanks for sharing your work with us.

I love them all! Why not create both? The possibilities are endless, 🙂 I’d love to have one of these on my bag.

  21. Pins! I want one!!!
Also, at some point you wrote, “I wish you could see them in person” and I said out loud, “Me too!” 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration and sharing your talents my bloggity friend.
