My kitchen, part 2

You can see part 1 here.

Big house project number2 is finally complete.  We’ve had the first have done for so long, that the other side didn’t seem very important or pressing. But we tired of looking at the make shift counter tops (which were old cabinet doors) and finally got the butcher block we had needed (thanks again, Ikea).

I am totally in love with that butcher block. It’s really beautiful, yet simple enough to keep the Mexican tile back splash in center stage.

Now we have all this extra counter space that we are afraid to use because we don’t want to sully it. That will pass eventually, I’m sure.

The orange wall was also once a solid wall that my hubby cut a look-through space. There was also a wall of cabinets (back to back) that we moved away to open up this space considerably.  You can see the two back to back cabinets re-purposed here and here.
