teacher gifts

Here are the teacher gifts I made last week for the wonderful teachers that my kiddos were lucky to have.  Each class has a teacher and an assistant, so 4 gifts needed to be whipped up.

These are 3.5 x 3.5 inch wood blocks, cut by my hubby.  Then I painted a simple image and then covered them with encaustic wax medium. I LOVE that stuff and the beautiful texture it creates.

A few other things:

* The boys spent the ENTIRE day outside.  They go outside for 1-2 hours every day, but not for almost 10 hours! I didn’t hear the words, “I’m bored” once.  I did hear about how hungry they were about a million times though.

* I cleaned my craft room. I went through everything  (except my fabric- that’s next) and got rid of a huge trash bag of junk and a good size box went to goodwill too.  I feel so refreshed!

    Very special teachers :]
Sounds like you have been very productive, making artful gifts & cleaning out your craft room.
I remember how my boys would play for hours outside… digging forts, climbing trees, and riding their bikes around the yard. Time flies!
